INTJ — The Architect
Ni · Te · Fi · Se
Frequently mistyped as INTP. The tell: INTJ conclusions arrive as a vision to be executed (Ni first), while INTP conclusions are built as a model to be corrected (Ti first).
Enter the four-letter result you already have and this compares that type's expected function profile against your own measured scores — showing exactly where and why the two disagree.
The tool needs a measured profile to compare against, so the test comes first. It is free and takes about fourteen minutes.
A four-letter result is a summary of a summary. Each letter is a threshold on a scale, and most people sit near the middle of at least one of them — so a small change in mood, framing, or self-image on the day flips a letter without anything real having changed. Two sittings a month apart disagreeing is normal, not evidence that one of them was wrong.
The deeper problem is that the letters sit on top of a mechanism they do not describe. INFJ and INFP differ by one letter but lead with entirely different functions — Ni–Fe versus Fi–Ne — and share no dominant function at all. Two people with the same four letters can be running quite different stacks if one of them is a genuine mistype.
Function scores avoid most of this because they measure the mechanism directly. You do not have to decide whether you are "more feeling or thinking this week"; you look at which of the eight is actually carrying the load, and how large the gap is.
The output is diagnostic, not decorative. "Substantial mistype" is a real finding: it means the claimed stack and your measured stack disagree on which functions lead, which is precisely the case worth investigating.
Each entry is the mistype that actually shows up in practice, and the tell that separates the two. Start with the result you already have.
Ni · Te · Fi · Se
Frequently mistyped as INTP. The tell: INTJ conclusions arrive as a vision to be executed (Ni first), while INTP conclusions are built as a model to be corrected (Ti first).
Ti · Ne · Si · Fe
Frequently mistyped as INTJ or as INFP. The tell: strong Ti wants precision, and a strong Ne shows up as rambling breadth of interest. If your inner life is dominated by values rather than coherence, look at INFP.
Te · Ni · Se · Fi
Frequently mistyped as ESTJ or as an ExTP. The tell: ENTJ decisions are shaped by a long-arc strategic vision (Ni), not by established procedure (Si) or by in-the-moment improvisation (Se).
Ne · Ti · Fe · Si
Frequently mistyped as ENFP or as INTP. The tell: ENTP argumentation is structural (Ti) rather than value-driven (Fi), and it usually wants to win the model, not express the self.
Ni · Fe · Ti · Se
Frequently mistyped as INFP or as INTP. The tell: INFJ care is organised around a vision of the other person's trajectory (Ni first), whereas INFP care is organised around the other person's authenticity and their own values (Fi first).
Fi · Ne · Si · Te
Frequently mistyped as INFJ or as ISFP. The tell: INFP inner life is dominated by what is right for me (Fi) plus branching possibility (Ne), while ISFP is present-tense and concrete (Se).
Fe · Ni · Se · Ti
Frequently mistyped as ESFJ or as ENFP. The tell: ENFJ focus is on long-term potential and trajectory (Ni) rather than on current harmony and concrete needs (Si), and their warmth is directive rather than exploratory.
Ne · Fi · Te · Si
Frequently mistyped as ENTP or as INFP. The tell: ENFP decisions are finally decided by values (Fi), not by structural elegance (Ti); and they are directed outward at people and possibilities (Ne), not inward at a private compass (Fi-first).
Si · Te · Fi · Ne
Frequently mistyped as ESTJ or as ISFJ. The tell: ISTJ structure is internally anchored (Si) rather than team-directed (Fe) or improvisational.
Si · Fe · Ti · Ne
Frequently mistyped as INFJ or as ISFJ/ISFP confusion. The tell: ISFJ perception is concrete and precedent-based (Si), not pattern-abstract (Ni).
Te · Si · Ne · Fi
Frequently mistyped as ENTJ or as ESFJ. The tell: ESTJ decisions are anchored in precedent and established standard (Si), not in a long-range private vision (Ni).
Fe · Si · Ne · Ti
Frequently mistyped as ENFJ or as ESFP. The tell: ESFJ care is aimed at concrete present needs and established expectations (Si), not at long-term potential (Ni).
Ti · Se · Ni · Fe
Frequently mistyped as INTP or as ISTP/ISFP. The tell: ISTP engagement with reality is present-tense and physical (Se second), not speculative breadth (Ne second).
Fi · Se · Ni · Te
Frequently mistyped as INFP or as ISTP. The tell: ISFP engagement is sensory and present (Se second) rather than associational and future-facing (Ne second).
Se · Ti · Fe · Ni
Frequently mistyped as ESFP or as ENTP. The tell: ESTP judgement in the moment is structural and pragmatic (Ti), while reading the group is instrumental (Fe).
Se · Fi · Te · Ni
Frequently mistyped as ESFJ, ISFP, or ENFP. The tell: ESFP judgement is internally sourced (Fi second) while perception is immediate and concrete (Se first).
Better still: run the method comparison to see why function-based scoring separates these pairs at all.
